Hi All.

This time was with two Australian's dedicated birders who hired me
once again to explore Albasini,Entabeni,Roodewal and Hanglip Forests
in the Soutpansberg region in the northern part of South Africa.
It was on the 15th and 16th of August although we started late I
finally met my clients at Shiluvari Lakeside Lodge in Albasini.
We set off for our birding spots and our first birding site was
Albasini Dam.The highlights here were few raptors we had like:
Jackal Buzzard
Long Crested Eagle
Brown Snake Eagle
African Fish Eagle
Lizard Buzzard and before the roosting female Spotted Eagle Owl we had in the lodge surroundings.
Our next stop was Entabeni Forest which is afro-montane habitat.
The highlight for this site was a pair of roosting Bat Hawk(lifer to Rene) in a stand of Gum trees. I took them to my favourite patch and and amongst other birds we got;
Yellow Streaked Greenbul
Olive Thrush
Lemon Dove
Cape White Eye
Knysna Turaco(heard)
On sunday we went to Roodewal Nature Forest and our highligts were a pair of African Broadbill.
Scaly Throated Honeyguide
Lesser Honey guide
Olive Bushshrike
Orange Breasted Bushshrike and away from the forest I took them to a pair of African Crowned Eagles on the nest in a pine trees and almost all lifers to Marie.
The afternoon finished up with a visit to Hanglip forest also Afro-Montane habitat and my clients were rewarded with the most superb views of Forest Buzzard(lifer to them)
Jackal Buzzard and Verreaux's Eagle.
